On the 10th of July 2019, the NEW 8MIFL was launched as a result of no football on television during the Covid -19 summer. While other leagues were shutting down and rearranging their schedule Coach Yosef T. Lee decided to launched the 8MIFL and his version of indoor football.
The league had gathered a few local Dallas/Ft. Worth amatuer football teams and one Louisiana team that decided to join the NEW league to take away the football fever. A lot of people tried to label the league as ordinary football just played with 8 men on soccer field and called it arena. But there was no Arena only a large size soccer field with enough seats to hold a small crowd.
Those teams were the Dallas BOUNTY HUNTERS, DFW DIABLOS, Garland WRANGLERS, Louisiana SPARTANS, and the Waco TORNADOES and as they battled for the summer od 2019 the Louisiana SPARATNS dropped out due to prior obligations. So with the SPARTANS leaving there was however two surprising teams that rose up out of the chaos of the middle of October: the Garland WRANGLERS and the DFW DIABLOS which met in the leagues first champinship ever, dubbed the "All the SMOKE BOWL I."
The Garland WRANGLERS led by the Elder Coach Allen Montgomery and Coach V. J. Sterling defeated the DFW DIABLOS led by the late Coach Terry May. That day over 200 people came out to see Coach Allen Montgomery and the Garland WRANGLERS raise the tall 8MIFL CHAMIONSHIP TROPHY. And after 20 years of indoor football in front of a packed crowd the the Garland WRANGLERS were the FIRST ever, All the SMOKE BOWL I" CHAMPIONS!
